The Under-7 and Under-10 groups combined this week for a fun game of Number Hockey, under the expert coaching of Erin Jenkins and Callum Thompson.
Players reinforced their stealing and tackling skills, and learnt to look out wide to the wings to find a partner to help get around the opposition.
Making moves: Yellow team’s Rachel Erickson controls the ball with Finn and Teddy cheering on as orange team’s Pavneet Kaur and Inderbir Singh prepare to tackle.
The under-12s also enjoyed a mini hockey game, umpired by Lee Manning.
They concentrated on looking for their teammates and finding space.
In term four, everyone over 10 years old is welcome to come and try their hands at “Fun Summer Hockey 5s” from 6pm to 7pm Thursdays.
With teams made up on the night, it is a fun way to keep fit, learn new skills and enjoy the company of friends over summer.
The Benalla Hockey Club’s 95th Birthday is being celebrated at Benalla Bowls Club on Saturday, September 17.
The 2022 presentations, including Stick 2 Hockey, are from 4pm.
