As past Saints players from around the country descended on club rooms at the Benalla Showgrounds, it would surely be a night of reminiscing and creating new memories.

On Saturday, August 26, 84 past players attended a reunion, with 22 apologies as old stories were told and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
The premier 1952 reserve side has four players still living.
In his 90s, Mick Levy was among those who attended the function.
Reunited: Graham Lessing, Len Sherlock and John Copper.
From the 1953 premier senior side, Neil Hanlon, the last remaining player from the side, passed away five months ago — he played in that side as a 17-year-old.
The club also remembers the players no longer with us: the 1962-63 premiership side’s 10 players, the 1972 reserve side’s one player and the 1973 senior side’s two players.
From the 2003 netball side, Robyn Smith and Kellie Keen attended.
Back together again: John Binion, Kevin Sykes, Mick Hossack, Geoff Ansell and Bruce Burnell.
Players who travelled were: N. Busse from Melbourne; N. Langlands from Mornington; I. Hughes from Hoppers Crossing; P. Rebecchi from Maryborough; B. Jaques from Noosa; G. Allen from Burleigh Heads; K. Roberts and wife Lesley from Coomera; G. Sherwill from Gisbourne; D. Fox from Surfers Paradise; J. Virtue from Canberra; and P. Erhlich from Melbourne.
Sharing stories: Robert Sherwill, Robyn Smith, Sue McCabe and Kellie Keen.
The MC, Robert Dore, set up a panel of G, Allen — 1973, B. Burnell — 1973, R. Castles — 1962-63, R. Smith — 2003 netball.
The panel members were asked questions and shared their experiences.
The Past Players Association would like to thank: Colin Sinclair for the meat; Fruits N Fare for the vegetables; Stephen Hide for fabulous cooking; Philip Hide for the sweets; Cameron Ross for the bottles of shiraz for the lucky draw prizes — from Warrenbayne Vineyard; D. Sharpe and crew and the guys who set up the room, and the people on the door and who set up the invitations.
With terrific input from everyone, the reunion was a great success and a delightful day.
Full house: The 2023 past players reunion drew a crowd.
