Bonnie Doon: 4.3, 6.6, 13.6, 18.9 (117)
The seniors came up against old rivals Bonnie Doon on what was a great day for football, but it was Bonnie Doon who came to play, winning the ball and using it much better than Goorambat.
Matt Priest was a standout for the boys with a big job in defence and battled hard all game, along with Jack Costigan, Victor Butler and James Webb, who all showed some good team play.
Credit to Bonnie Doon who didn’t have a bench for the second half and wanted the win more than Goorambat, which hopefully will drive the boys to make sure they finish the last two games with wins before finals.

Goorambat reserves came up against a strong Bonnie Doon team on Saturday and were under pressure from the start.
But the backline stood up to the pressure, led by the ever reliable Jeremy Hill on the last line of defence continuing on with the great form he has been showing this season.
Both Will Hyland and Grayson Kirk got plenty of the footy throughout the game, while Jeremy Sloan battled hard for the boys with some strong play, but the boys weren’t able to match it with Bonnie Doon who came away with the win.

A Grade
Goorambat 30 def by Bonnie Doon 45
This week, our A grade team faced a well-disciplined Bonnie Doon side. While we struggled with consistency throughout the match, we had a fantastic start in the first quarter, led by Nelle Cousins in defence, trailing by only three points at quarter time.
Brittany Button also showcased her defensive skills, creating several turnovers. However, Bonnie Doon made fewer mistakes, which hindered our ability to convert opportunities in attack.
Despite this challenge, a significant highlight of our game was the way our attacking end regrouped under the leadership of Kylie Relf. We managed to draw level in the final quarter, finishing just 15 points behind at both the three-quarter mark and the end of the game.
The team’s determination to keep fighting and settle down in the last quarter gives us a lot to be optimistic about as we approach the finals. There is plenty to build on, and I'm excited to see our progress in the coming weeks.
Best: Nelle Cousins (Riverbank Cash Award), Brittany Button (Goorambat Railway Hotel Award), Kylie Relf (Early Bird Award)

It was a picturesque winter’s day as Goorambat hosted a strong Bonnie Doon side. With Bonnie Doon narrowly winning by 11 goals in their previous encounter, expectations were high for a competitive match - and it certainly delivered.
Riding a wave of recent victories, Goorambat entered the game determined to challenge the second-placed team on the ladder. The opening quarter saw a tightly contested battle, with only one goal separating the sides despite the early loss of Sophie Hammond to injury.
Following the break, Goorambat appeared slightly unsettled, allowing Bonnie Doon to build a five-goal lead. However, Aneiki Pierce stood tall under pressure in the shooting ring, while Kelsey Moss once again demonstrated her leadership, shifting seamlessly into wing attack to deliver precise feeds to Poppy Broomhall. Broomhall showcased her strength and composure under the post throughout the game.
In defence, Nikki Wallace was instrumental, consistently rebounding and creating turnover opportunities. She was well supported by Fiona Doig, who made a strong return from injury with a solid performance at goal defence.
Despite several injuries during the match, the Bats showed grit and determination, refusing to back down. Although the margin remained unchanged in the final stages, resulting in a five-goal victory for Bonnie Doon, Goorambat’s resilience and team effort were evident.
Best: Kelsey Moss (G&S Gall Cash Award), Nikki Wallace (Royal Hotel Award), Fiona Doig (Hume Solar Drink Award), Poppy Broomhall (Early Bird Award)

The Bats came out a bit slow in the first quarter, but began to show some good movement in the ring from Charli Button and Yolanda Bourke.
Consistent defence and mentoring from Lacey Carter helped the girls coming into a new position. With the Bats girls trying out a few new positions throughout the game, they started to show some good passages of play.
Bonnie Doon, being a very well put together team, easily came away with the win
Best: Lacey Carter (Hume Solar Canteen Award), Katelyn Russell (Early Bird Award), Lola Mount (Spot 4 Ice Cream Award)

The girls came up against the forever fighting Bonnie Doon side this weekend. The girls hit the court with smiles today even knowing this one was going to be another tough round. It had been only four weeks since we had last faced Bonnie Doon.
The girls never dropped their heads and fought regardless of the scoreboard. Estelle Doig continued her front cuts and drives through mid court and even had some attempts at shooting today.
Alarna Button fought tirelessly all game having strong hands on contested balls. Emma Hall ran all game presenting well for midcourt runs. She even tried her hand at defending which worked well.
Chloe Culhane was a huge presence at the goal ring holding beautifully for some easy goals. She also played a new position in wing attack and smashed it.
The girls never dropped their heads once and still managed to enjoy themselves. Each and every one of them need to be commended on their efforts they all put in.
Also a shout of to Bonnie Doon players for great sportsmanship and winning gracefully.
Best: Estelle Doig (Hime Solar Canteen Award), Alarna Button (Terry White Chemmart Award), Emma Hall (Spot 4 Ice Cream Award), Chloe Culhane (Early Bird Award)
