Benalla P-12 College kicked the week off with Years 5/6 students playing Hocktopus against coaches Sophie and Erin and then scoring heaps of goals in Number Hockey.
Years 1/2 students learnt how to dribble the ball with What’s The Time, Mr Hockey?
Then they Robbed The Nest of Eggs from Hockey Eagles Charlie and Lee.
Most classes at St Joseph’s Primary got to zoom their balls around in the air-conditioning, which was a lovely treat, as was Angus visiting from FCJ to teach “hockey ready” and play number hockey with them.
“It was so much fun playing hockey at school,” Emma (Year 4) said.
At the Australian Christian College, Hume kids ran rings around coaches Amber and Erin, scoring heaps of goals.
Benalla’s Hook In2 Hockey starts on Thursday, February 29, at Churchill Reserve, Waller St.
Primary school kids are from 4.15pm to 5.15 pm, and teenagers can have a go from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
Co-ordinator Lee Manning said it was a great opportunity to play hockey for the first time.
“All kids are welcome for the free first session, with equipment available to borrow,” Manning said.
