On Thursday and Saturday, at least 40 stableford points were needed to win your respective grade, with quite a few players recording generally good scores of 37 to 40 points having to settle for a mention in the ball comp.
On Saturday, the A-grade winner with the best score of the day was Geoff King on 43 points, from runner-up Kane Allen on 38. B-grade winner was Garry Baker with 42 points from runner-up John Wacheke 40, and in C-grade the winner was Leanne Landy with 41 points, following up from her win on Thursday, and runner-up was Fiona Milward 39.
Last Thursday the A-grade winner was Sarah Lugsdin with 41 points from runner-up Ross Pogonoski 37 and B-grade winner was the improving Leanne Landy with 42 points from runner-up Sacha Free 41.
On Wednesday, in stark contrast to previous days, the going was tough in very windy conditions, although there were still some excellent scores. A-grade winner was Ross Pogonoski with 38 points from runner-up Neville Werner 37, B-grade in-form Sarah Lugsdin 42 from runner-up Jenny Swainger 39, and C-grade Wendy Pekin 42 from runner-up Fiona Milward 37.
In Mid Murray pennant, our team has had a strong start to the season with three wins and sits equal first on the ladder. In round one at Corowa, Deni defeated Tocumwal 3-2, round two at Finley Deni defeated Finley 3-2, and round three at Deniliquin, the home team defeated Cobram (1) 3-2.
Coming up we have stableford again tomorrow, with 9 holes stableford on Tuesday and the usual stableford competition on Wednesday. Next Thursday there will be 9 hole stableford and 18 hole stroke, then Saturday is stroke for monthly medals.
Also next week, is the exciting news that the Flagstick Bistro opens on Monday, December 1 and will open for lunch and dinner. Function bookings are also being taken.
