The final derby between Rennie and Tungamah before the splitting up of the Picola League was played at Tungamah’s ground, which was in pristine condition as the Hoppers travelled to the Bearpit.
The Hoppers were able to match the intensity of Tungamah, who were unable to finish in the finals. The difference throughout the game was that the Bears had multiple options deep forward, whereas the Hoppers were able to match the game between the arcs but strayed with their final forward entry.
Lewis Taylor and skipper Bruce kicked three each for the Hoppers in a game which saw the third Under 17 debutantes for the year, Blake Carey, otherwise known as Sauce.
The Hoppers ended the season in 14th position with two wins and have reappointed Connor and Marcus Hargreaves as coaches for next season.

Tungamah won, while the Rennie Under 17s won two games for the season. Great work by Pickles and his group for getting this team back up and running.
The absolute highlight of the day was the two teams in the rooms together after the match, sitting side by side, with the Tungamah boys watching on as Rennie did their awards and the camaraderie shown between the clubs.
There are many who work in an ivory tower at Marvel Stadium who would not have a clue what real footy is.
Well done to both clubs.

A Grade
Rennie 30 defeated by Tungamah 77.
Rennie A Grade travelled to Tungamah for the final game of the season, coming up against a strong Tungamah side.
The scoreboard finished 30–77, but there were plenty of positives to take from the game. The team continued to work hard across all four quarters, battled for every ball and never stopped pushing despite Tungamah building a strong lead.
There were some great passages of play through the midcourt, with plenty of pressure applied defensively and some determined efforts to create opportunities in attack. The team continued to fight right through to the final whistle and showed plenty of heart.
Congratulations to the award winners from the game: RNC Incentive – $100: Demi Rhodes, Lake Mulwala Hotel – $25: Claire Dawson, Northeast Campers – $20: Jennika Parker, Mulwala Water Ski Club – $20: Leisa Hodgson.
B Grade
Rennie 21 defeated by Tungamah 58.
Rennie headed to Tungamah for the last match of the season. The sun was shining, making for a beautiful, warm winter’s day. The Hoppers defence did an incredible job working together to create pressure, getting intercepts and rebounds at every given opportunity. The shooters worked tirelessly together in the ring and drove forward to put as many goals on the board as possible.
Through the mid court, the girls worked overtime to drive forward, get intercepts and create space, allowing the ball to move smoothly down to the attacking end. Despite the final score, it certainly didn’t reflect the game the girls played together.
Rennie should be incredibly proud of their efforts in their final game of the season. They have come such a long way and worked incredibly hard throughout the season, and they will continue to build on that effort heading into next season.
Awards: RNC Incentive – Autumn Holland, Lake Mulwala Hotel – Bri Pye, Club Mulwala – Indi Wheeler, Showcase Jewellers – Charlotte Burrows.
C Grade
Rennie 44 defeated by Tungamah 49.
As the last round of the home-and-away season unfolded, Rennie led at the first break and worked hard to maintain the advantage. However, Tungamah matched them every step of the way, refusing to let them settle and challenging them throughout the game.
The goalers made the most of their opportunities, with Tegan having a stellar second half, shooting with great confidence, composure and accuracy when the team needed it most.
Millie in Centre was relentless with her drive through the midcourt, creating opportunities with timely intercepts and never giving up on a loose ball. Her work rate and determination were a constant throughout the game.
Tess played another great game, combining well in every area of the court — in goals, through the midcourt and in defence. Her energy and adaptability allowed her to have an impact wherever she was needed, and she continually provided strong options and support for her teammates.
There were some great passages of play throughout the game, with the areas the team has focused on at training coming into play effectively. The girls showed patience, determination and a willingness to work for each other, particularly when Tungamah challenged them.
It was a valuable hit-out to finish the home-and-away season and a great opportunity to put the team’s training into practice. There is still plenty to work on, but the signs are encouraging as the team heads into its first final next week.
The focus now shifts to finals, where every possession, every contest and every effort will matter. The team will take the confidence from this game, continue to work hard at training and get ready to embrace the challenge ahead. Go Hopperettes.

Rennie 44 defeated by Tungamah 47.
Today was a little bittersweet as Rennie took on its archrivals for the final time, with the league splitting into two next seasons. The much-improved Bears were better on the day, but there was plenty to be proud of from the girls.
Charlotte was awarded the Top Award for the way she handled a mishap with the team sheets that meant she was unable to take the court. Instead of letting it get her down, Charlotte cheered, encouraged and supported her teammates from the sideline all game.
Tess transitioned into the goal circle so well today, completely changing the flow of the game and creating so many opportunities for the team. Her ability to adapt and make an impact was amazing to watch.
Demi brought consistent pressure, and her accurate goaling under pressure was awesome. She continued to step up when the team needed her and showed great composure throughout the game.
Liv was outstanding in defence, as always. Her positive attitude, incredible work ethic and ability to combine with whoever was alongside her were huge assets to the team.
While the result wasn’t ours today, the growth, resilience and support these girls have shown each other throughout the season is something to be incredibly proud of.
One final battle with our mates, the Bears. A little sad to see this chapter close, but the team is excited for what comes next. Bring on the final’s series.

Rennie 15 defeated by Tungamah 34.
It’s always a great privilege to play against the cross-town rivals, Tungamah, and today was no different. While Rennie didn’t come away with the win, there were plenty of positive signs and some great improvements from the girls.
With a few positional changes to start the game, it was fantastic to see the girls come out firing and ready to make their mark. Ava stepped into GK and was a great asset, using her height and reach to disrupt passes into the ring and create valuable turnovers.
Lily had a run in GA, where she created space and worked well with Chelsea before moving back into defence and continuing to create havoc for the opposition. Ella was also a standout in WD, consistently covering passes, cutting off drives and working tirelessly before continuing that hard work in the defensive circle.
Chelsea’s confidence was on full display, adjusting her play and movement to suit the changing players around her. Zali worked hard in attack, moving well to feed the ball into the ring before once again creating movement and opportunities in the goal circle.
The girls should be incredibly proud of their hard work, effort and commitment throughout the season. There have been some great improvements, and it’s fantastic to see them continuing to develop and work together as a team. Well done, girls.

Under 11s – Team Emerald
The Emerald team had a great last game against Tungamah. They had a fun game playing against kids they are friends with.
They have all improved so much this year. Thanks so much to the Little Hoppers coaches who have put in the work every week. The girls have developed this year.
Good luck to our bigger Hoppers going up next year. They are certainly ready.

Under 11s – Team Green
What a fantastic year of netball for Team Green. All the girls have developed so much as individuals, but also as a team.
The girls have really been putting into practice what they have been doing at training each week, and it is evident during the games.
A massive thank you goes to all of the parent, family and guardian support crew behind Team Green and Team Emerald who came to watch each week and also scored, time-kept, helped out with the Minis Day, cleaned the clubrooms, washed the dresses, helped out in the canteen and the list goes on.
Thanks to Bre and Tracey for supporting Danielle with the coaching and managing side.
Finally, thanks must go to Danielle for the careful planning she put into training and game day, and for her constant encouragement and support of all the girls.
