After a loss to Bonnie Doon last week brought an end to the All Blacks reserves’ winning streak, the Benalla side was determined to get back on track.
Things got off to a flying start as the Panthers kicked four goals two behinds and held their opponent to a singular major.
From there the reserves continued to push forward their advantage with a perfect defensive performance in the last quarter to hold the Milawa side pointless.
The All Blacks finished strong and came away 10.7 (67) to 3.3 (21) winners.
Benalla’s best player was Karl Mullins who put his mark on the scoreboard with two goals but it was Harry Moran who was the top goal scorer with three majors.
The All Blacks reserves now sit fourth on the ladder and are breathing down the back of Bonnie Doon’s neck as they look to climb up the table.

After an injury crisis in recent weeks the All Blacks were looking to find their rhythm against top-of-the-table Milawa.
The Demons proved that they deserve to be where they are on the table and recorded a comprehensive 80-to-37-goal win.
It was a relatively close first quarter as the Panthers worked hard to stop the in-form Milawa attack and the gap at the first break was seven goals.

Going into the second quarter, the Demons showed their class and the absence of key players was felt by the All Blacks as Milawa led Benalla 41 to 19 at half-time.
The Demons never looked back and controlled the rest of the game to take the win on their home court.
