The SYC vs Echuca Green game started intensely, after meeting three times during the season for one win to SYC and two to Echuca.
Despite Jacinta Woodward running hard all game as a wing and inner, and Amber Armstrong making some superb tackles to stop Echuca in their tracks, SYC was unable to meet Echuca’s team plays across and around the field, losing 3:0.

After playing each other five times during the season, with four wins to SYC and a draw, the B Men’s grand final Strikers versus SYC was very competitive.
Both teams fought hard for the ball all game, with Strikers concentrating on teamwork to move the ball forwards and defensive pressure to force turnovers.
Latham Carroll provided strong defence as a half back, also helping to shift the ball forwards through the midfield.
The team utilised Angus Woodward’s speed on the wing and into the circle, with many attempts thwarted by the full backs and goalie.
The nail-biter finished in a 1:1 draw and was decided by penalty shoot-outs, where five players from each team take turns one-on-one with the goalie for eight seconds.
Angus Woodward stepped up when asked, and managed to outwit the SYC goalie with a great pass under his stick which slammed in for a goal to cement the 5:3 win.
