Goorambat 8-3 11-6 13-8 15-11 101
Moyhu 1-1 2-7 3-10 5-14 44
The senior side got off to a great start against Moyhu on Saturday which was pleasing to see as typically the boys have been starting slowly in previous games, which put the young Moyhu side to the sword at the first break.
Brush Haebich was lively up forward causing plenty of headaches for Moyhu, along with Sully Malay putting pressure on with some great tackling causing plenty of turn-overs.
Curtis Anker continued his great form down back along with great support from Alex Moloney, but credit to Moyhu as they did come back and give it their all after quarter time, causing some frustration for the boys.
It was a good and much needed win for the boys, so well done and keep up the good work.
Best Players- Curtis Anker (Peter Davis Rural), Sully Malay (Goorambat Royal Hotel), Lachie Boyle (The Royal Hotel), Brush Haebich (Hollywood’s Pizza), Joel Bate (Bill Bo Pop), and Alex Moloney (Club Dinner).

Bats 47 – Moyhu 58
It was a beautiful day for netball out at Moyhu for round 9. Moyhu came out strong and were fast throughout the whole court. The Bats kept up with the pace most of the game, Molly Doidge ran hard to keep up with the fast attack of Moyhu.
New defensive duo of Jasmine Martin and Georgia Thomson did well against accurate shooters but were able to get many turn-overs. Michele Button stood strong giving the opposition defence a hard time along with Kylie Relf’s speed across the court and accurate shooting. Carli Hogan and Piper Nally worked the attacking end well with great feeds and drives. It came down to the final quarter and unfortunately Moyhu were too strong coming away with the win.

Moyhu 8-2 15-5 16-12 21-21 147
The reserves came up against a very good side at Moyhu on Saturday, in conditions that were perfect for football with the back line under pressure from the start with Moyhu playing some good football.
With Brenton Doig and Todd Wapling standing up against the pressure down back, playing their hearts out for the team, along with Robert Wilson across halfback and relieving some of the pressure time after time.
Dan Bryant played one of his best games of the year with Laser Lawrence Richards with some great use of the ball setting up his teammates up forward, so stick together boys and your next win won’t be too far away.
Best Players - Robert Wilson (Bouwmeesters Bakery), Dan Bryant (Royal Hotel), Brenton Doig (Sports Power), Todd Wapling (Subway), and Lawrence Richards (Macca’s Sharpening Service).
Goals - Simon Briggs 1.

Goorambat 29 – Moyhu 34
First quarter saw a lot of ball movement from both sides back and forth with strong defence from Bats Alyssa Priest and Fiona Doig. The pair shut down a lot of the ring not allowing Moyhu to have opportunities to score. Second quarter changes proved vital with the Bats, taking a four-goal lead at half-time.
Third quarter and some fresh legs from Moyhu saw them claw back to within 2 goals.
Going into the final quarter the Bats had a bit of an uphill battle with sickness taking a toll on the team, running out of legs the Bats fought on strong but unfortunately weren’t able to hold on for the win.

B Reserve
Bats 22 - Moyhu 47
B reserve came out strong against Moyhu keeping up with them for the first half. Unfortunately, with their strong attacking side we were unable to take the win. Grace Handley, Carissa Parrant and Abby Hammond stood out on court with their ability to read the play and make some strong leads delivering the ball down court. Ella Woods and Emma Dowdell, were accurate with their shots, although they had fewer opportunities at a goal than Moyhu. In defence, Kate Nolan, Chelsea Cole and Hannah Coote were able to get many turn-overs despite Moyhu’s strong attacking play.
Best on - Grace Handley - Royal Hotel award
2nd - Ella Woods - Madison Jane
3rd - Kate Nolan - Terry White Chemmart

Bats 63 – Moyhu 41
With the sun shining over Moyhu the Bats had a slow start, the defenders provided lots of pressure and got a few turnovers that allowed the attackers to find their groove. Shooters Sophie Hammond and Poppy Broomhall were once again a strong combination in the ring.
While at the other end of the court, Lacy Carter and Eleanor Renkin had great pressure against Moyhu goalers and worked well to get plenty of intercepts. Molly Martin's fantastic pressure down the court created lots of turnovers. While the Hoppers were a tough fight, the Bats were able to keep their composure coming away with a 22 goal win.
