It was a beautiful sunny day for the grand final of the Bendigo Junior Football League under-14s Reserve Division One.
Castlemaine started the game well, scoring quickly to take the lead. Rochester were able to build momentum to get its first score on the board shortly after.
In a tight contest from both teams working hard for the ball, Rochester was able to take a four-point lead into the first break. Goals scorers for the quarter were, two to Asher Rasmussen and one to Mac Dickinson.
Both teams came out of quarter time with momentum, hitting every contest hard around the ground.

Castlemaine was kicking with the wind and was able to score two goals before Rochester scored for the quarter.
Rochester’s midfield lead by Asher Rasmussen was standing up all around the ground, taking plenty of marks and being involved in every contest. Goal scorers for the quarter were Maddox Parker and Mac Dickinson. Rochester held a two-point lead at half-time.
As the wind increased to the east, Mac Dickinson scored the first goal for Rochester with a big kick from outside 50 metres.

Castlemaine was quick with the ball when it entered its forward line and was able to kick ahead from Rochester, with their height making a difference in the contests.
Castlemaine had taken the lead and were five-points ahead going into the final term. Other goals for the quarter were Mac Dickinson with another and Asher Rasmussen.
Castlemaine had the wind in the fourth quarter, but Rochester had plenty of the play in the first half of the quarter, scoring two goals from Mac Dickinson against the wind.

Harrison Wilkins scored a beautiful goal and Rochester was combining well by hand down the field, with a remarkable handball chain to goal.
Rochester was able to keep their momentum as Castlemaine continued to push and keep the score close.
Rochester was able to hold the lead, winning the game by 13 points.
