Corowa Rutherglen netballers claimed seventh win in row to defeat the Wangaratta Rovers by 26 points during Saturday’s clash at W.J. Findlay Oval.

Both the A and B grade continue their dominance at the top of the table with strong consistent netball from every player. Even with small player movements each week, Coach Georgie Bruce continues to get the best from her girls each week.
Once again, the Roos came in firing off the back of their win last week over Yarrawonga. The girls found their pace after the first quarter and came away comfortable winners

Club 1: Emily Laracy- applied immense pressure of the ball creating numerous turnovers in defence.
Club 2 & MVP: Brooke Bice-always a pleasure to watch this lady in action. She applies effortless pressure in defence and drive in the attack.
Essential Beauty: Soph Hanrahan- another strong game by this legend with plenty of turnovers and display of athleticism.
Canteen award: Olivia Sinclair- a slow start but settled into her groove proving two strong for the Rovers mid defence with her explosive drives and quick feed of the ball.
Final Score: Roos 58 defeated Rovers 32
B Grade

Another tough day at the office as the Rovers threw everything they could into the game for the first three quarters. Once again, another display of grit and determination by this group to come away winners

Club 1: Madi O’Keefe- a work horse in the mid court and engine of the team, Madi gave her all 100% of the game
Origin Clothing: Zoe McLeish- it was amazing to have this jet back out on the court. Zoe’s experience and athleticism played a key role in the Roo win.
D’Amicos: Lucy McInnes- a strong influencer of the game Lucy’s second half efforts led to the charge home
Canteen & MVP: Kiara Corkett- her speed and precision passing under duress were impressive and a display of her cool-headed poise.
C Grade

Wangaratta started of the game with a strong intensity, so the girls had to reset, re-focus and apply greater pressure to their opposition.
Each quarter the girls stayed composed and supported one another to get the ball down the court, winning the second half of the game the girls were not quite able pull back the score line for a win.

Club 1: Lily Hanrahan- had a great game in the ring, worked well to find the perfect spot to shot.
Club 2: Britney Degan- made an impact in defence. Applied strong pressure and drove well into the centre court.
Docs café: Bec Kuschert- starred in GD and then in GK. Rebounded well, always looking for the right option bring the ball out of defence.
Canteen: Shelby Richardson- had great hands over the ball. Offering give and go through the mid court helping to deliver the ball to the attack end.
Under 17s
Roos 37 defeated by Rivers 54
It was a tough day for the girls on Saturday coming against a quality opposition and undermanned. As a defensive unit, the Roos stuck to their guns and had a wonderful 1 on 1 game.
In attack, the girls moved the ball beautifully once they picked up their speed of the game. Wang were a consistently good side which challenged the Roos girls to stay positive, however they know their best netball is really amazing. Onto next week!

Club 2- El - A solid game in GK. Such a presence and ripped in those rebounds.
Steph- Kept her head the whole game and kept trying to create some beautiful plays. Her shooting has been beautiful in recent weeks!
Tal- like a dog at a bone, never stops!! The barometer for the team and always wants the next turnover.
