In their match at Moorngag the Bombers’ John Bajada and Col Exton won in a clean sweep against the Lions’ David Beer and Keith Bickerton, winning five rubbers to nil.
At the Tatong Hall the Tigers’ Paul Shea and Stuart Smith cleaned up the Farmers’ Pete Smith and Damian Young, four rubbers to one. The Tigers won the three-game doubles, and in a father-versus-son battle, Stuart Smith prevailed in a tight three-game singles. His dad made up for it, winning his singles against Shea.
The Swanpool Swans’ Chris Seeley and Sathya Kancharla suffered a four rubbers to one defeat against the highly-rated Eagles’ Jim Renkin and Shaun Murphy. Kancharla’s win in the singles against Renkin was the only triumph for the Swans.
The only known result for B-grade was the Wallabies’ forfeit to the Turtles due to illness.
