Undera 26 defeated by Violet Town 34
The Towners delivered a solid performance this week, coming away with a 34-26 win over a determined Undera side. From the outset, Violet Town showed focus and intent, working hard across all four quarters to earn a well-deserved victory.
The game was a real showcase of teamwork as every player on the court contributed, with strong communication, smart passing, and relentless defensive pressure. Towners mid-court combinations moved the ball with control and purpose, while the attacking end made the most of their opportunities to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Defensively, the Towners were particularly strong. Emma Warnock was outstanding, consistently turning over the ball and applying pressure in the circle, with Jo Wild’s drive a focus in the mid-court, not allowing Undera to get a run on.
Their ability to read the play and force errors played a key role in keeping Undera at bay and helped shift momentum in Towners favour at crucial moments.
Prue Holmes was another standout, delivering a commanding performance in wing defence. She was relentless in her pressure, shut down her opponent with discipline, and helped transition the ball back into attack with precision.
It was a gritty and determined four-quarter effort, and one the whole team should be proud of. The energy, the fight, and the trust in each other was evident, a true team win!
Awards went to Emma Warnock and Jo Wild.

On a wet court and in poor weather conditions, Towners played sensible but effective netball.
It was all about ball control and precision passes and they delivered with a depleted goaling line up, a big thank you to Stacey Karolidis for stepping up from C grade.
Megan Bamford set the pace throughout the court, bringing the ball out of a strong defence and feeding well into the goalers. The Towners’ finals dreams may be slight, but they are still in with a chance and will never give up.
Awards went to Megan Bamford and Mel Gibson.

Undera 28 defeated by Violet Town 51
Hoping to cement their spot at fifth on the ladder, Towners took on Undera with a loss from their last meeting still front of mind.
In unpleasant conditions, they played ‘old ladies’ netball, and did it well, controlling the game from the very start. They chose easy options, shorter passes and smarter choices to outplay their opponents all over the court. Towners are getting stronger and stronger each week and, fingers crossed, they will finally get to play finals.
Awards went to Ash Bertoli and Rachael Coulbourn.

Both teams went out with an intriguing spark of determination.
The glint in the Towners’ eyes represented the strong courage they went into the game with, fighting hard to pick up intercepts and rebounds. Although the first quarter didn’t go our way, the team was determined to make a comeback.
Our shooters were moving great in the ring, and the passes were terrific.
The number of intercepts Towners’ defenders managed was superb, helping our attackers get it down to the shooters.
Although the result didn’t go their way, with VT going down by two goals, the team never dropped their heads.

Undera 5 defeated by Violet Town 21
What a fantastic effort from Towners this week, coming away with a strong 21-5 win. The team played with great structure and determination, showcasing everything they’ve been working on at training.
The defenders were solid all game, making it tough for the opposition to score, while our attackers made the most of their opportunities with some sharp passing and accurate shooting.
While the scoreboard shows a big win, Towners were a little flat in our energy this week. They’ll work on bringing that spark and voice back on court next game to match their skill level. Still, it was a wonderful job all round – well done, team!
Awards went to Lucy and Queenie.
