The first round of the championships was played on Sunday and the winner of the day was Simon Packer (88-26-62), r/u Rick Bradbury (78-9-69), Rick also won the putting with 25.

Leading A-grade after the first round is Matt Whelan on 76, followed by Chris Cameron on 77 and Rick Bradbury on 78.

Leading C-grade convincingly is Simon Packer on 88.
