Back to the Future star James Tolkan dies aged 94
James Tolkan, known for Back to the Future and Top Gun, has died aged 94 after a remarkable acting career spanning decades.
Entered Eternal Life on November 23rd, 2025 at Bendigo Hospice.
In the 64th Year of his Priesthood. Aged 87 years.
Revered and Esteemed Priest of the Diocese of Sandhurst.
Ordained at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo on 29/06/1962.
Formerly Assistant Priest of Kerang, Cobram, Rushworth, Beechworth, Shepparton, Mooroopna and Parish Priest of Heathcote, Nagambie, Kennington and Wodonga.
Administrator of the Sacred Heart Cathedral from 2008-2015. YCW Chaplain 1972-1974.
Administrator of the Diocese of Sandhurst 2010-2012 and Vicar General of the Diocese from 2012-2015.
He was invested a Protonotary Apostolic (P.A.) by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012.
Awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (O.A.M.) in 2022.
