One cannot forget one's mentors and Ron’s quiet demeanor and didactic style of teaching taught me to emulate these basic principles of Orthopaedic Surgery. From those undergraduate days at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, I transferred to Melbourne in 1970 to specialise in my future career as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon focusing on Hand Surgery. Now I just carry on another Ron edict of an obligation to teach through surgical textbook publications. I am grateful for his guidance and my condolences to his family.
