Shirley peacefully entered the
Paradise of the Lord on 15th January 2026.

Cherished wife of Pastor James “Jim” Chappell (dec.). Beloved mother and granny to Jacqui & Mark and Kesse Johnson; Ashley & Michelle Chappell and Cassidy & Joshua, Dalton & Brooke; Danny & Kiki Chappell and Karen.
Much-loved sister of Trevor (dec.) and Jan Smith. Dear sister-in-law to Sylvia (dec.) & Laurie (dec.), Rosemary & Ian (dec.), Denis & Rosalie (dec.), and David & Sherrill. A treasured aunt to her nieces and nephews, and a dear friend to many whose lives she touched.

The family extend their heartfelt thanks to Carinity Fairfield Grange and the compassionate staff who lovingly cared for Shirley.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held on Tuesday, 3rd February 2026, commencing at 11:00am at the
Townsville Worship Centre,
228–244 Riverside Boulevard, Douglas.
