In Loving Memory of Allan,
Allan commenced his journey with the QS Services family in October 1998, quickly etching his skills and value as a reliable, talented and humorous colleague into the group. His stories, kindness, dedication to his work quickly became ingrained into his character and gained him strong respect throughout the Northern Territory construction industry; Allan was the go to person for an estimate of any project; scale, quirkiness or complexity.
A man of tremendous spirit, Allan would always have a story to go with the day’s happenings in the office, told in regaling detail, his life experiences and lessons entwined to provide everyone enlightenment and a laugh for the day. Allan attempted to retire in 2024 from full time work at QS Services, however his strong work ethic and possibly poor luck in fishing; his favourite hobby, drew him back to continue to work until his unexpected recent passing.
Allan acquired Diploma’s in Building and Design and Drafting in 1998 at CDU and was a skilled and respected construction professional who could understand the most complex of projects with ease. Born in Millicent, South Australia, Allan and his wife experienced and lived in all parts of the country, landing into Darwin in the 1990’s with the promise of opportunity. Survived by his Daughter Selina, Allan’s life was very simple, testament to the character he is; a hard worker that enjoyed it with a joke or story, and perhaps wetting a line in his down time; as any True Territorian does.
Allan’s health diminished very quickly and painfully, with his sudden passing unexpected; his absence has been a shock to his family, colleagues and wide group of friends.
A celebration of Allan’s life will take place at the Darwin Funeral Home, Marrara on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 1.30pm, followed by a moment to share stories of Allan, with his friends and colleagues, with a refreshment at the Darwin Ski Club, Fannie Bay.
