The readings are a standard yearly process for G-MW and are used to verify customers’ water usage.
G-MW water delivery services general manager Warren Blyth said meter readings were already under way and would continue throughout the rest of May and June.
“It’s important to note that when one of our staff members visits a property to undertake a meter reading they will be in a clearly marked G-MW vehicle,” he said.
“Our staff will also have identification on them to verify who they are.”
Any water used by diversion after readings are taken must be reported to G-MW by June 21.
“Any water usage that occurs after the meter reading which has not been communicated to G-MW will be counted against a customer’s 2026/27 usage,” Mr Blyth said.
“Please get in touch with your local diversions inspector about any water you have used since your meter or meters were read.”
Regulated surface water customers wishing to use water entitlement during May or June must place an order through the WaterLINE website and contact their local diversions inspector so usage can be recorded for the current irrigation season.
Unregulated surface water users and groundwater customers who use water during May or June are also required to notify their diversions inspector so their usage can be accounted for.
Customers can talk to a diversion inspector by contacting G-MW on 1800 013 357.
