Suspect in court for Greek suitcase murder of UK woman

The suspect was identified from street camera footage recorded near the site, showing a man wheeling a large, dark-coloured suitcase. 

He was granted 24 hours to prepare his defence and was expected back in court on Thursday, court officials said. 

The suspect - a migrant who has not been named in accordance with Greek law - was arrested on Sunday. 

The United Kingdom National Crime Agency and Police Scotland assisted with the investigation, along with law enforcement from the United States. 

Greek public broadcaster ERT reported that the suspect was born in Afghanistan and was pursuing a boxing career in Athens, details that authorities have not publicly confirmed.
