I am Bernie Hearn.
I would like to thank you for the opportunity to represent you in council for the past four years and Deputy Mayor in 2020.
Benalla is my home. I am born and breed here.
My father was a policeman in the area and I went to school with many of you or your friends and family.
I am a wife and mother of two boys, we live in, and love, this community.
I am a business women, a farmer and office manager.
During the past four years on council we have achieved a lot and I am proud that together we:
● Purchased a new grader to advance road maintenance;
● Built the new landfill cell on budget and started construction on a new transfer station;
● Raised the roof for equestrian; and
● Started the Junior football club rooms and completed the splash park.
I continue to encourage and support business in Benalla enabling more jobs for locals.
I actively support increasing community mental health, Live4Life and PHN suicide prevention community health funding.
During the next term it is important that we continue to work together to:
● Improve roads and footpaths;
● Complete the transfer station and see the landfill move into a viable business;
● Build up our recycling capabilities;
● Improve our city drains and gutters;
● Support small business and innovation too continue employing local people for Benalla work and provide local opportunities; and
● Encourage more female leaders in our community.
I passionately believe in our region and the future possibilities it has to offer to those who live in our community and to those who visit.
As your councillor I will be approachable, accountable, fair, consistent and committed to community.
I am listening.
I need your support now to continue this great work for our community - please Vote 1 Bernie Hearn.
