Medals to be returned following Ensign appeal

The Ensign received some good news this morning when a local lady, Lorraine, contacted us to say the medals we featured in a recent article were issued to a relative of hers.

The name on the medals was TK Chester, who is on the WW1 honour roll at Lake Rowan and the Benalla Uniting (formerly Presbyterian) Church.

She confirmed that Mr Chester was from a big family and grew up in Lake Rowan before going off to war.

She said a member of the family was due to call Greensborough Police Station this morning (Thursday, January 21) to claim them.

More to come.
