Jeff Davies from North East Wildlife Control said he had attended six snake jobs in the past couple of weeks and urged community members to be wary at this time of year.

“Snakes react to movement. If we become part of the scenery they don't react. If you are more than a couple of meters from the snake, you can back away slowly, and let it go on its way.”
Mr Davies also reminded community members there was an $8000 fine for illegally killing a protected species.
