Community members will have noticed increased activity on site in recent weeks, with additional machinery and container units arriving as the project moves into its next major phase.
This stage focuses on completing the shaping works, which will give the public a much clearer sense of the track’s full scale and layout.
World Trail, the specialist team delivering the track, has begun shaping the beginner and intermediate loops.
Locals will now start to see humps, bumps and jumps emerging as the track takes form.
Once these sections are completed, work will begin on the advanced jump line, bringing the full vision of the pump track to life.
Rural City of Benalla Deputy Mayor Justin King said the community’s enthusiasm had been energising.
“This is a fun and exciting project for Benalla, and it’s fantastic to see the track really taking shape,” Cr King said.
“People have been stopping by to watch the progress, and you can feel the anticipation, particularly among young people.”
He said the project represented a significant investment in local recreation and community wellbeing.
“The pump track will be a great asset for riders of all ages and abilities,” Cr King said.
“As the shaping continues, the community will start to see just how impressive this facility will be.
“We’re thrilled to be delivering something that encourages outdoor activity, brings people together, and adds to the vibrancy of the area.”
The project is jointly funded, with $1 million provided through the Victorian Government’s Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund and council contributing an additional $420,000, bringing the total project investment to $1.42 million.
