Around 50 people attended the free live screening of Australia's clash against Paraguay at noon on Friday, June 26.
Supporters watched on as the Socceroos earned a hard-fought draw to progress to the round of 32.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the live site was about much more than a soccer game.
“I think it’s so special to be able to bring people together,” Cr Sali said.
Following the success of the first World Cup screening, Cr Sali said council was pleased to provide another opportunity for the community to watch the tournament together.
Getting ready for the match were (back) Kate Fairgray, Mayor Shane Sali, Karen Kelly, (front) Henry Fairgray, 9, Hugo Fairgray, 7, Layla Kelly, 10, and Maisie Kelly, 12.

He said it was great to have “the sport played on the big screen — everyone loves supporting their country”.
“These types of events build momentum, as Australia continues to progress. The game builds excitement for what next week will look like,” Cr Sali said.
Cr Sali said that if possible, he would be supportive of future live sites as the World Cup progressed.
Among those in attendance were brothers John and Mick Miksad, who reunited to watch the team they grew up supporting.
“My brother decided to come up from Melbourne so we could watch the game together,” John said.
“I’ve got the week off, so I’m taking the opportunity to watch the World Cup games.”
John admitted he had originally planned to stay home.
“I was going to sit at home, but my brother dragged me out here,” he said with a laugh.
“I’m glad he did because it’s a good set-up. I’m impressed.”
The brothers said they had supported the Socceroos since they were children and enjoyed watching the game with the community.
“It’s great to be part of a shared experience,” Mick said.
“No matter what background you’re from, your class or your culture, we’re all going for the same team.”
With Australia now through to the round of 32, supporters are hoping the community will have more chances to gather behind the green and gold in the weeks ahead.
