The community consultation period is open and runs until Wednesday, July 22.
The masterplans outline a long-term vision for the future of Benalla’s key recreation reserves: Churchill Recreation Reserve, United Friendlies Society Reserve, Benalla Showgrounds and Recreation Reserve, and the Benalla Gardens Reserve.
It identifies priority upgrades to sporting infrastructure, community facilities, accessibility and open spaces.
Residents can view the draft plans and submit feedback via haveyoursay.benalla.vic.gov.au
Printed copies are also available at council’s customer service centre and the Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Learning Centre (Benalla Library).
Mayor Bernie Hearn said the community’s input was essential to getting the plans right.
“These reserves belong to everyone, from the kids on the playground to the footy clubs, morning joggers and dog walkers,” Cr Hearn said.
“We want to hear from the community, so jump online, take a look, and tell us what you think.”
All feedback will be reviewed and considered before the plans are finalised.
Council will publish a summary of the feedback received and outline how community input has informed the final plans.
