Corowa and District Inner Wheel Club has presented a mock cheque for $4,200 towards the refurbishment of the Palliative Care Suite at Corowa Hospital.
The cheque was presented to Juliana Sheridan, Corowa Health facility manager and Danielle Ross, nurse unit manager of Bunge Ward.
The money, which was raised through raffles and functions held by Inner Wheel, will go towards the refurbishment to develop and enhance the existing room into a tranquil, calm user-friendly space.
The renovation aims to ensure patients and families feel comfortable and restful within a hospital environment that feels home like.
Several generous, voluntary groups have donated money towards this meaningful project.
The removal of old wall covers, painting the walls a lighter colour as well as new laminate flooring will add a tranquil atmosphere to the suite.
New bed linen and hopefully a new bed will take away the clinical feel of the room and make it feel more like home.
It’s a very big project, but a worthwhile one that will hopefully be finished in the New Year.
