Arceee Phoenix finished a close up fourth in the $600,000 TAB Trot Slot in the Night of Champions meeting at Cambridge on New Zealand’s North Island.
In a thrilling finish Victoria’s four runners in the lucrative race filled the first four placings.
Champion Just Believe nabbed the pacemaker Callmethebreeze right on the line with the only mare in the race, Queen Elida, getting up for third after stalking the leader throughout the race.
Trainer-driver Chris Svanosio was able to get Arcee Phoenix into the one-one sit in the race to give him every chance.
He finished two lengths from the winner and pocketed $55,000 (Aus) for his fourth place finish.
