Regional prosecutor Alexander Lew puts hand up for Nationals

Mr Lew hopes to see the strongest possible candidate put forward at the state election in November, and is supportive of other candidates coming forward.

While he frequently travels to Shepparton for work, Mr Lew’s Burramboot home lies outside the state electorate.

He previously entered the preselection contest for the seat of Murray Plains, but the nomination went to Brett Hosking.

Mr Lew said he has a good understanding of the issues that matter to the Shepparton community, including crime and road maintenance.

“It’s clear that Shepparton hasn’t been given the funding it deserves,” Mr Lew said.

He believes that the Nationals need to select a candidate that can win back their base that has been shifting towards One Nation.

Mr Lew was a councillor for Stonnington City Council in Melbourne from 2020 to 2022.
