The fundraiser, made up of fully donated stock and organised by Devenish, Dookie & District Good Friday Appeal, took place on Tuesday, October 13.
The highest selling pen of four prime lambs was sold for $320 to Peter Ryan of Ryan Meats in Nathalia.
“They’re prime products for butchers to buy,” Paul Durden of Devenish, Dookie & District Good Friday Appeal said.
In total, the lambs averaged $240 with a total of $19,874 raised.
Meanwhile, the highest selling cattle was an Angus steer which sold for $2588. The average cattle price was $2102 with a total of $23,122 raised.
Mr Durden said he was very happy with the results, in which all 83 head of lambs and 11 head of cattle were sold.
“Prices are a lot better than last year,” he said.
He said the event had been a major part of fundraising efforts.
With the sale now in its 10th year, Mr Durden said it was great to be able to support such a worthy cause.
“It’s a great hospital within two hours of Shepparton,” he said.
“The support it gives to parents and families is amazing.”
