From roses and markets to movies, history and a moving tribute to our service men and women, there is plenty to enjoy across the region.
It's a great chance to explore our rural communities, meet local people and support the volunteers and groups who make it all happen.
Benalla Festival chair and Deputy Mayor Justin King said the rural events showed off the warmth and character of our smaller towns.
"Our rural townships have so much heart" Cr King said.
“These events are run by locals who love where they live, and they want you to come and see why.”

Cr King encouraged everyone to plan a trip out to Benalla Rural City’s townships during the festival.
"Pack up the car, bring the family and make a day of it,“ he said.
“Whether you're after scones, a laugh at the race or a quiet moment to remember, you'll find it out here.
“By being part of these events, you're helping strengthen the communities that make our region special.”
