If so, you can come along to a free community event, hosted by Benalla Rural City Council, to help you better understand the support available through My Aged Care and talk with trusted service providers one-on-one.
The event welcomes everyone, including family members and carers, seeking information about My Aged Care support services. Morning tea will be provided.
My Aged Care, delivered by the Australian Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, is open to community members 65 years and older, or 50 years and older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, or those who are homeless/at risk of homelessness.
People approaching these ages that are in need of extra support are encouraged to come along to find out more directly from service providers.
On the day, you can:
- Chat one-on-one with local service providers.
- Get help navigating My Aged Care.
- Receive assistance planning for future aged care needs.
The service providers you can chat to will include the Salvation Army and Gateway Health Care Finders, Cooinda, Services Australia, Elder Rights Australia, Benalla Health, Community Interlink, Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, Familycare – Carer Gateway, and Estia Health.
