Benalla Bushrangers' summer cricket season got off to a wet and shaky start with its B-grade, C-grade, Under-16 and Under-14 matches abandoned due to the weather.
Friday night's downpour wasn’t good news for local cricketers, with several matches across Wangaratta District Cricket Association abandoned.
The Bushrangers will hope to kick-start their season again this Saturday with A-grade and A-reserve to take to the field after both enjoyed the bye first up.
A-grade will travel to Lords Reserve in Mansfield to face Delatite Cricket Club with a 1pm start, while A-reserve will host Rutherglen at Benalla Gardens Oval from 1.30pm.
Benalla's B-grade and C-grade teams have the bye, while the Under-16s will face Greta at Moyhu Recreation Reserve from 9am.
Under-14s will also have home-ground advantage over Rutherglen, taking to Benalla Gardens Oval from 9am, while the Under-12s will battle it out with Ovens Valley United Black at Memorial Park.
