Premiership favourites Nagambie showed Violet Town how good they are on Saturday as they beat the home side to the tune of 102 points.

At times the Towners took it up to the visitors but strings of unanswered goals in every quarter bar the third destroyed any hope of an upset as the Lakers flexed their muscles.
A standout for Violet Town was Jimmy Herring, as he kept the league’s leading goalkicker in check as he played one of the best defensive spells of the season so far.
Sam “The little bull,” Leigh, with his, ‘see the ball get ball,’ attitude was another top performer for Violet Town and had supporters calling for, Ollie “Raging Bull,” Ford to return to the field for a one-off appearance alongside his little namesake.
Others stand out players were Aaren McLean, Anthony Moleta and Brandon Ebert.
Full forward Andrew Padbury should also be commended for his efforts when dropping into to defence to help stem the flow of goals.
Conor Daley showed his class and will be one to watch as his fitness and touch kicks improve as the season plays out.
Luck hasn’t been on the Towners side as injuries have hurt the side leaving them without a bench.
Violet Town travel to Longwood this week in a game that is touted as the most important game between the sides in years.

Reserves
With the help of a few Under-18 players, the reserves side had their best crack all season, but was unable to get one over Nagambie.
Violet Town hit the scoreboard early in the first quarter through regular Under-18 goalkicker, Montell Macfarlane.
Max Burton made his return from injury with a good spell in the middle for the Towners, driving the ball forward at every opportunity.
Tyler Green was able to get on the end of the hard work downfield and kick three majors.
Charlie Hall steping up from the Under-18s and playing on the wing was also impressive for the Towners.
The Violet Town reserves are looking forward to a full complement of players this weekend as they hope to give Longwood a run for their money.

Under-18
The Under-18s team continued their impressive start to this season, with a perfect 4-0 record after the weekend’s win against Nagambie.
Despite the wet conditions, the team played with determination and skill, with Montell Macfarlane and Tyler Green leading the way with three goals each.
Talleigh ‘The General,’ Mccabe was a standout in the backline, and Sam ‘The Bull,’ Leigh pushed through the opposing midfielders.
The game was tight all day until Jye Dunn stepped up and kicked the sealer in the last five minutes, securing the win for Violet Town.

Under-14
The Under-14s took on an injury and COVID-19-depleted Longwood, which unfortunately only had six players available.
With Violet Town having 18 boys available, the players were more than happy to turn their jumpers inside out and help the opposition throughout the game.
Come the last quarter the players worked as one to ensure Kai Bedford was able to kick a goal in his final game before moving away.

Netball
A-Grade
In the first quarter Violet Town took some time to find their feet and struggled to compete with Nagambie’s shooting accuracy.
Once the Towners got going, strong play down the midcourt allowed for flow into the ring.
In the second quarter Violet Town’s defence worked tirelessly to stop the Nagambie shooters, however the accuracy of the Nagambie’s shooters allowed them to take the lead by 9 goals at half time.
The girls worked hard to feed into the ring in the third quarter.
With more accurate shooting from Imy Law and Teagan Kubeil, the Towners kept up with Nagambie as they went into the final quarter 10 goals down.
Violet Town kept fighting strong in the fourth, putting the pressure on but Nagambie proved to strong on the day.

B-Grade
Violet Town started off strong in the first quarter with great defence in the goal ring and coming down the court.
During the second quarter the Violet Town defence continued to be strong.
Encouragement and talking was great and attackers were working well to movew the ball into the ring.
In the third quarter Emma Warnock started strong getting multiple intercepts.
Kasey and Kat provided great back-up and Lilly’s confidence in shooting improved greatly, 11 goals scored to close the gap to 5 goals.
The final quarter saw some good pick-ups from Violet Town’s Bree with Kat and Lilly working well together in the ring but in the end Nagambie took the spoils.

C-Grade
During the first quarter Violet Town showed some great defence and there was some good give and go movement by Karalee in the goal ring.
During the second quarter the Towners’ defence worked hard to rebound and bring the ball down the court.
Attackers worked the ball around well to find the best opportunity and at half time Violet town was only a goal down.
Nagambie came out into the third quarter strong and their lead extended.
In the final quarter Violet Town’s attack had a strong start with Maya scoring a few early goals while their defence continued to provide strong pressure.
Amelia worked tirelessly throughout the game.
Nagambie was able to find another gear and end in front come the final whistle.

Under-13
Violet Town fought hard for the first half of the game, and their defence and passing has really improved over the season.
Sophie Williams and Maddison Mace have both done an excellent job and were standouts on the day.
Violet Town showed impressive teamwork throughout the game.
Violet Town kept up the fight right to the end and have shown they are a team to watch as they continue to improve.

Under-11
The coach of Violet Town said that the girls did an amazing job today, all trying their very best until the very end.
The girls were focusing on using their voices and coming forward which they started to do in the second and third quarter.
Excitement was high late in the third quarter when Violet Town got the ball inside their goal ring for the very first time for the game.
Maddie and Heidi worked well in defence and managed to catch multiple rebounds.
