The Bats host their annual Silver Circle fundraising event this coming Sunday, August 9, at the clubrooms. There will be great prizes, live music, lawn games and a jumping castle for the kids as well as lunch and discounted drinks for those that have purchased a ticket. Tickets are $50 and the event kicks off at 12 noon.

Netball
A Grade
The A Grade girls put together a strong performance against Moyhu, coming away with a convincing 52-27 victory. After building momentum throughout the match, the team played with great composure and consistency to control the game from start to finish.
Sophie Hammond stepped up brilliantly this week and was outstanding across the court to earn best on court honours. Charli Button was once again influential with another strong performance, while Sarah Blackburn continued to provide plenty of drive and experience.

B Reserve
Goorambat B Reserve travelled to Moyhu on Saturday and showed plenty of fight early before going down 25-45.
The girls matched it with the home side throughout the first half, working hard across the court and staying well in the contest. A lapse in concentration after the main break allowed Moyhu to take control, but Goorambat continued to battle until the final whistle.
Bri Putt was named best on court for her tireless work through the midcourt, while Fiona Doig was outstanding in defence with her strong pressure and determination. Tayla Dempster also made an important impact across the court, providing plenty of drive and effort throughout the game.

Under 17s
Our under-17s side was defeated by a strong Moyhu outfit on Saturday, going down 16-57. Despite the result, the Bats continued to battle hard throughout the game, showing plenty of determination and effort against quality opposition.
One of our younger players stood up in defence with relentless effort and determination, earning best on court.
Yolanda Bourke continued her consistent form, showing confidence and composure in the goal ring to be awarded second best.
Katelyn Russell had a strong game in defence, applying constant pressure and making the Moyhu shooters work hard for every goal to earn third best.
While the scoreboard didn’t fall our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the game. The girls continue to improve each week, and with their commitment and hard work, they’ll look to finish the season strongly over the remaining rounds.

Under 15s
Goorambat’s under-15s had a slow start against Moyhu at the weekend, eventually going down 19-39. Throughout the game the girls showed great teamwork and encouragement for one another.
Estelle Doig was impressive in defence, dictating her opponents well to slow down Moyhu’s fast attacking play. Alarna Button moved with confidence in the ring, creating strong options in attack, while Ava Hayes worked tirelessly in goal keeper to collect loose balls and strong rebounds.
With the end of the season approaching, the focus remains on enjoying the game, celebrating the girls’ progress, and finishing the season on a positive note.
