Mount Pleasant was on the cusp of upsetting minor premier White Hills in the B-grade netball decider, but fell a few goals short on Heathcote District Football Netball League grand final day.
After a tight two-goal loss to the Demons in the qualifying final, Mounts knew they weren’t far away from taking down their opposition and were right in the game throughout the first half.
White Hills had the better of a tense first quarter and had a slight two-goal lead, 8-6, at the first break.
Mounts rallied in the second and at half-time looked to be in a good position to claim the flag, up 16-15.
However, White Hills showed the quality that led it to a 14-1-1 record in the regular season and regained control of the game in the third quarter to lead by four goals, 28-24.
Despite Mounts best efforts they couldn’t overturn that deficit in the final term and the Demons grabbed the premiership 41-37.
