Hockey stars hit the field for another week of action

Some of the region’s brightest hockey talent hit the fields of the Shepparton Regional Hockey Complex over the weekend.

In what was another thrilling round of Goulburn Valley Hockey Association action, all grades played out competitive fixtures, with the competition ladders starting to take shape.

It was the Strikers who produced a big win in the A-grade men’s division, taking out SYC 8-1 on Friday night in Shepparton.

The win was a big result for the Strikers, with both sides undefeated entering the clash.

In Echuca, Echuca-Moama got the job done against Mooroopna on Sunday afternoon.

This contest saw a convincing 3-0 win to Echuca, with the victory the team’s first of the season.

In the women’s B-grade competition, ladder-leader Mooroopna got things done, with a convincing 5-1 win over Euroa.

Benalla also took home the points on Saturday, winning a 4-3 thriller over the Strikers.
