Waaia came out with plenty of intensity and were able to build a significant lead through the opening half.
To Berrigan credit, they never stopped competing and came out after half-time determined to make an impact.
The third quarter was easily the team’s best passage of football for the afternoon, with the Saints finding some fluency and hitting the scoreboard with 4.3 for the term to give everyone something to cheer about.
Adrian Pilgram led the way in front of goal with two majors, while Grant Martin, Hunter Surrey and Keith Tallent also managed to find the big sticks.
There were some really good individual efforts throughout the afternoon, with usual suspects Brandon Batchelor, Ollie Hill, Lachie Pyle, Mason Peters, Jack Magill and Toby Dalgliesh amongst our best.
While the final scoreboard didn’t go the club’s way, the boys continued to work hard and represent the Saints right through to the final siren.

The club’s full focus now continues to the thirds side who come up against Deni Rovers on Sunday in a preliminary final.
