This week saw the two elimination semi-finals for our A grade teams.
Magic 57 d Heat 53
In the first game of the evening Magic took on Heat. In an arm wrestle of a first half baskets were fairly evenly traded with Heat going into the mid-term break up by one point.
The second half continued as a close game but with a few more shots going through the net.
Magic out-scored Heat by 5 points in the last quarter to come away 4 point winners and through to grand final on Wednesday.
Bulls 45 d Suns 27
In the second elimination semi the Suns were up against the Bulls, fresh from having last week off.
Ryan Coburn got the Suns off to a flying start with two quick 2 pointers.
In what was another close half Bulls steadied to by a basket clear at the break. Unfortunately for the Suns baskets were hard to find in the second half, the Bulls’ disciplined defence and strong outside shooting added 25 to their tally making them 18 point winners and up against Magic in what promises to be a closely fought grand final.
B1 Grade
Magic 44 def Celtics 22
Magic took the court determined to win and win they did. With Kade Walker back from injury and Joth Mallon scoring two three pointers they were a force to be reckoned with.
Magic went to the break with a 10 point lead and despite their never give up attitude and plenty of sneaky steals by Cooper Gow Celtics just weren’t able to fight back.
Good luck to Bulls and Magic in next week’s Grand Final.
B2 Grade
Celtics 30 def Heat 17
Heat took the court with only 4 players this week in the Preliminary Final but that didn't stop them putting up a good fight scoring the first goal for the game and only being 6 points down at half time.
Celtics scored a few quick goals in the first half which they then kept the lead for the rest of the game.
Top scorers were Daniel Simpson Thouliss on 12 points for Celtics and Archer Backway scoring 10.
