In Loving Memory of Burma Raye Staggs Banta

Burma Raye Staggs Banta, 79, passed away on December 29, 2022.

Burma was born in Hazelhurst, Mississippi, and later moved to San Antonio, Texas, before settling in California.

Throughout her career, Burma worked as a Switchboard Operator at Kaiser and as a Secretary for Honeywell and Citicorp. She eventually found what she considered her happy place working as a secretary for the Greek Orthodox Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted and faithful member of the Greek Orthodox Church.

Burma embraced life to the fullest. She cherished her family and especially treasured time with her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her quick wit, delicious recipes and love for those around her will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Burma is survived by her daughters, Robbye Ferguson (Mark) and Christina Crandall (David); her sons, Patrick Kelly (Mari) and Justin Banta (Tammy); her sister, Cheryl Matson (Ron); nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Jasper.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jimelle Staggs; her father, Ralph Staggs; and her brothers, Ralph Staggs Jr. (Butch) and Jesse (Michael) Staggs.

Burma leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
