It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my Mother Linmirrin, Matriarch of the Wangayajawun and Jigayagawun Clans of the Wardaman Tribe, west of Katherine.

Mum, in your words “I’ve lived a good life, me and my daughters made our mark in this world, I’m happy”.

Indeed Mum. But that world was you. You fought your last fight with courage and dignity, a battle of impossible odds.

The only other thing you loved more than your country and life itself was your family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

RIP our darling Mum, Aunty, Nan, Big Nan, Friend or Foe, Watermelon and Bubba ;you are home, the bestest in the westest xo

The service and burial will take place at Djarrung just as Mum wished, dates to be confirmed.
