Aged 96 years
Passed away peacefully on Friday, 20th February 2026, at the Kapara Aged Care Home in Glenelg, surrounded by his family.
Treasured eldest son of Doreen and Kevin (dec’d), loving brother of Des (dec’d), Barry (dec’d), David (dec’d), Michael, Terry and sister Margaret.
Loved father of Stephen, Jennifer, Donna and Susan. Respected and loved Father-in-law to Dave, John and Michael. Adored Grandfather (Pa) to Dion, Jessica, Rebecca, and Joshua. Great Grandfather to Bradleigh, Emily, Rylee, Ivy-Leigh and Sascha, and a dear friend and companion to Rosalie.
John’s love for his family was unconditional. He was a well-respected member of his community and a good mate to many. John leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication to volunteer work, including a long association with the Australian Red Cross, where he received a commendation for his outstanding work and commitment.
John will be remembered for his love and care towards family and friends, his strong work ethic, and his sense of humour. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
In honour of John’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
