The Caulfield Grammar School community mourns the passing of Ian Edney, a respected, admired, and dedicated member of our school community who attended Caulfield Campus as a boarding student from 1971 to 1974.
Ian gave generously of his time and professional expertise to the School which included him serving as Treasurer on School Council from 2012 to 2023. As School Treasurer he played a key role in the significant strengthening and expansion of the school during this period. In addition, Ian served as Deputy President of Council and Treasurer from 2016 to 2023. Following his retirement from School Council in 2023 Ian was appointed an Emeritus Councillor to acknowledge his significant contribution to Caulfield Grammar and he continued to take a great interest in the school.
Ian was a proud and passionate Grammarian who will be remembered with great fondness, respect and admiration and Caulfield Grammar School gives very grateful thanks for his life.
The School extends its sincere condolences to Ian’s wife Melinda (Lindy), their children, Samantha and Tom, and their extended families.
