Terence Donovan: The Man Behind Doug Willis
Terence Donovan, who played Doug Willis on Neighbours for over 25 years, has died at 90. His son Jason paid tribute, calling him "larger than life."
The sudden and peaceful death is announced, after a very long illness bravely borne,
of Eric John Young on Monday. 2 February, 2026 in Mount Eliza, Victoria.
Eric was born on 15 August 1947 in Invercargill, Southland, the second son of Bill and Joyce Young of Carfax, Mossburn, Southland, and educated at St Andrew's College, Christchurch, New Zealand.
He lived the majority of his working life as
an air traffic controller in Australia
(Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland), Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong.
Eric is mourned and desperately missed by his wife, Denise, son and daughter-in-law, William and Mary, and his two grandchildren, Zabelle and Raffi, and many other members of
their families and friends.
His funeral will be held at St James the Less Anglican Church in Mount Eliza, Victoria, on Saturday, 14 February 2026 at 11.30am.
