As Australia’s largest event of its kind, the show will bring together agriculture, fashion, food, technology and rural lifestyle into a three-day celebration, drawing tens of thousands of visitors to regional Central Victoria.
More than 3000 sheep across 25 breeds will compete, alongside fleece competitions, sheepdog trials, and shearing and wool handling contests.
The Technology and Careers Hub connects young people with universities, training providers and employers exploring pathways into the sheep and wool industries.
About 500 exhibitors will create one of the country’s largest marketplaces for wool and country living, from handcrafted woollen goods to fibre arts in the popular Woolcraft Pavilion.
Fashion features prominently with twice-daily parades showcasing Australian wool and country clothing, while food lovers can enjoy the Festival of Lamb alongside regional wineries, distilleries and artisan producers.
Australian Sheep Breeder’s Association chief executive officer Sue Opie said the show continued to evolve while staying true to its purpose.
“The Australian Sheep and Wool Show is where agriculture meets community ... there truly is something for everyone,” Ms Opie said.
Ms Opie said the event supported regional businesses and told the story of the sheep industry “from farm to fashion and from paddock to plate.”
