Festival director Anna Smith ran the event online last year to ensure it could still take place while COVID-19 lockdowns were affecting the state.
“The final 12 films that were selected for the Benalla Shorts Film Festival are getting a second screening at Swanpool Community Cinema,” Ms Smith said.
“You can see some fantastic films from around Australia including two that were locally produced.

“The winner of Best Film, These Walls by Susanna van Aswegen, tells the story of a free-spirited grandmother and her grandson who share a secret passion for street art.
“They are forced to reveal their secret with the boy’s concerned single mother and show that age is no barrier to passion.”
Another creative and unique entry was the Student Film category winner, The Quiet, by Radheya Jegatheva.
“It is a short film about an astronaut who ponders on the quietude of space until he comes upon a startling self-realisation,” Ms Smith said.

“We also have the People’s Choice and Local Encouragement Award winner One Love produced by Benalla's own Charles Williams.
“It tells the story of 70-year-old George who has been living without his wife for 37 years. He faces losing the only connection he has left of her, his car, the car he bought on the very day they met.”

● My Ghoul by Andrew Robb and Jessica Gerger.
● Lieutenant at Arms by Kerri Ann Foweraker.
● Drunk Movies - Kanga Rules by Tom Burgess and Lachlan Wilson.
● Known by Heart by Linda Marie Curry.
● For the Barren King by Jack Johnston.

These films, and more, are going to be screened for one night only and will be introduced by Ms Smith.
The range of styles and subject matter will ensure there is something for everyone, but with Swanpool Cinema still operating at a reduced capacity there are only 100 seats available.
The screenings are on Friday, February 19 at 7.30 pm, tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for concession card holders, and the event is rated MA15+.
