A NEMA spokesperson said the organisation was looking forward to the new financial year with great expectations and excitement.
“We are pleased to announce that the Victorian Government is continuing the financial agreement under the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing for another year which will allow us to continue our basic services,” the spokesperson said.
“(That includes) home visits and advocacy, providing important information in as many languages as possible and connecting people to each other for support and friendship, until mid-2022.

“Everyone is welcome but especially mothers who were born in another country or who speak another language.
“Our early childhood educator will also be able to offer assistance to mothers, answer questions and refer to appropriate services if needed.”

The regular Monday evening English classes are in recess during the school holidays and will recommence on Monday, July 12 at 6 pm at Cecily Court.
“We look forward to meeting new students and encourage anyone who needs assistance with English language to contact the class or the Cultural Cottage on 5721 2090,” the spokesperson said.
“This last year has been difficult for everyone, we have all missed celebrations for important events shared with friends, so on International Friendship Day NEMA is hosting a multicultural luncheon at the CWA Hall in Templeton St, Wangaratta, which will be a chance to celebrate all the missed celebrations of 2020.”
Everyone is invited and to bring a friend but to monitor attendance numbers and for catering, NEMA ask you to book on 5721 2090.
