He has received a NSW Premier’s Flood Emergency Citation for his selflessness and a spirit of shared purpose for his deployment to keep NSW communities safe during major flooding between 2021 and 2023.
That citation outlined that beyond his exceptional operational support, it was his connection with local communities, the way he offered reassurance, practical help, and a visible presence in times of uncertainty that led to this recognition.
“Working side-by-side with our NSW colleagues, these efforts reflect the unified commitment our SES members make to serving communities, regardless of borders,” the citation read.
“It is this spirit of collaboration, generosity and mutual support that strengthens our collective ability to respond to emergencies and care for those who need it most.”
The NSW Premier’s Flood Emergency Citation consists of a certificate and letter co-signed by the NSW Premier, the NSW Emergency Services Minister and the NSW SES Commissioner, as well as a citation pin.
“On behalf of this government and the people of NSW, we thank you,” the citation read.
“During those two years, our state faced compounding catastrophic floods that set new records for rainfall in river catchments and flood levels across many regions.
“Your dedication has profoundly touched the hearts of our community and will leave a lasting impact for years to come.
“Thank you for your dedication to the people of NSW.”
