Campaspe Shire Council, in collaboration with independent producing house Quiet Riot Creative, will host the Jazz Supper Club at Rushworth hall on Friday, May 1.
Headlining the evening is acclaimed jazz vocalist and violinist Fem Belling, joined by her brother Zvi Belling on double bass and long-time collaborator Patrick Jaffe on keys.
The South African-born Australian performer, who has appeared as a leading lady in London’s West End, will present an intimate show inspired by the golden age of jazz.
Picola-based band Broken Creek will also perform, with Erin and Lachlan Heycox bringing their blend of banjo, guitar, fiddle and voice to the stage, re-imagining Australiana through original storytelling.
The event will run from 6pm to 9pm, with doors opening at 5.30pm. Tickets cost $20 per person and include finger food, with drinks available at bar prices. Each table seats four, with bookings limited to four tickets.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell encouraged residents to take part in the themed evening.
“Whether you’re a jazz lover or just want an excuse to enjoy a night out with friends, this event offers something special for everyone,” he said.
Guests are encouraged to embrace the style of the 1930s jazz era to help set the scene.
Bookings are open via TryBooking, with council urging residents to secure tickets early as capacity is limited.
