The fanfare will now start from the Tuesday, September 29, before the iconic festival, with a party that will bring fans and visitors into the Deniliquin CBD.
Local businesses are along for the ride, and will coordinate their own activities and specials to really ring in our famous event in style.
The free community event will transform Cressy and Napier Sts into a vibrant festival precinct from 5pm to 10pm, officially kicking off Muster Week celebrations.
Open Streets Spirit of the Muster Street Festival is designed to bring locals, visitors, businesses and community groups together, creating a welcoming atmosphere that showcases the best of Deniliquin and the Edward River region.
Deni Ute Muster general manager Vicky Lowry said the event is an important part of the Muster Week calendar.
"Open Streets Spirit of the Muster Street Festival is all about celebrating our community and creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout Deniliquin before the gates officially open for the Deni Ute Muster," Mrs Lowry said.
"The event encourages visitors to spend time in our CBD, support local businesses and experience the incredible community spirit that makes Deniliquin such a special place.
“It provides a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors alike to come together and enjoy a free evening of entertainment and activities."
The event is expected to attract thousands of people into the town centre and provide a significant boost to local businesses, hospitality venues and community organisations.
A free event bus service will operate throughout the evening, ensuring easy access for attendees and encouraging visitors staying across the region to enjoy the festivities safely. It is funded through the NSW Government's Open Streets Program led by Transport for NSW.
The Open Streets Spirit of the Muster Street Festival forms part of the broader Muster Week program, which celebrates regional Australia and builds excitement ahead of the iconic Deni Ute Muster on Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3.
The NSW Government Open Streets Program led by Transport for NSW supports events that temporarily close streets to traffic, creating vibrant public spaces that encourage community connection, support local businesses and activate town centres.
